The post will be based at Guy's and St. Thomas'. However, it is a requirement of your employment that you be prepared to work at any additional or different location owned or served by the Trust, either on an on-going or temporary basis according to the demands of the service.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a first class team within a larger group of diagnostic radiologists with other areas of wide ranging expertise. In addition to supporting the established diagnostic radiology services, the post holder will be expected to take an active interest in service development, to participate in teaching programs, and research and development.
Your job plan is anticipated to contain 10 Programmed Activities per week on average to be carried out on Guys & St Thomas sites and includes on-call commitments. As a Department we are open to flexible working patterns which suit the Department and individual needs with agreement with the Clinical Director and Clinical Lead. Over the last year, remote Home Reporting solution has been deployed to the majority of radiologists across all subspecialties. Continuing roll out is anticipated as the need arises and flexible and home working patterns will be reviewed. A proposed job plan is provided and the post holder will be expected to discuss and agree a detailed job plan, including personal and professional objectives, with the Clinical Director within 3 months of starting.
As an organisation, we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. This includes asking certain groups of staff to work more flexibly so that we can offer services to patients in the evenings and at weekends. We regard this flexibility as essential if we are to continue to provide first class patient care in the future. As a result, any offer of employment to a consultant post will be subject to you agreeing to work a new more flexible pattern of working in the future if required and in accordance with the provisions of the new Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust consultant contract.
