Description

My client, a UK wide, PE-backed property business, are looking to recruit a commercially savvy M&A Analyst to come in and support their transactions and investment team, based in Stockport.

This role places you at the very heart of the organisation's investment activity, offering broad exposure across the full transaction lifecycle and direct collaboration with senior stakeholders.

You will work closely with internal teams such as Finance, Asset Management, Capital Markets, and Financial Planning & Analysis, as well as external advisers and capital partners.

This position provides significant involvement in both acquisitions and disposals, integration of newly acquired assets, and strategic business initiatives.

What you'll do:

  • Act as a central liaison between investment teams and other internal departments such as Asset Management, Finance, Capital Markets, and FP&A to ensure seamless coordination on all transactions.
  • Oversee the handover process for newly acquired assets to management teams and legal advisers, guaranteeing operational readiness from day one of ownership.
  • Support engagement with external advisers throughout each stage of the transaction lifecycle by acting as a key point of contact for due diligence processes and deal execution.
  • Assist in executing acquisitions and disposals by conducting detailed analysis of asset and corporate transactions to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with Group Finance to assess financial impacts of transactions and coordinate the preparation of comprehensive financial memos.
  • Prepare communications materials for capital partners' Investment and Asset Management teams while building relationships across portfolio companies.
  • Contribute to monthly internal reporting cycles and quarterly shareholder presentations by tracking performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support onboarding performance tracking by analysing data sets and preparing insightful presentations for senior stakeholders.
  • Provide analytical support to senior leadership on an ad hoc basis to inform strategic decisions across the business.
  • Evaluate portfolio performance by supporting asset grading activities based on specification criteria and risk profiles.
  • What you bring:

    • Approximately two years' experience in an analytical role where you have demonstrated capability across relevant skills; commercial property experience is not essential but would be beneficial.
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications-particularly Excel-with proven ability to analyse complex datasets, interpret results accurately, and present findings clearly.
    • Interest or experience in advanced data analysis techniques or artificial intelligence applications would be advantageous for contributing innovative insights.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality under tight deadlines.
    • Self-sufficient approach combined with discipline; able to take ownership of tasks from inception through completion without close supervision.
    • Excellent written communication skills complemented by strong verbal presentation abilities; comfortable engaging confidently with diverse stakeholder groups.
    • A collaborative mindset that thrives when working within cross-functional teams; willingness to share knowledge openly for collective success.
    • Meticulous attention to detail paired with a high degree of accuracy in all deliverables produced.
    • Proactive attitude characterised by initiative-taking behaviour; adept at identifying challenges early on and proposing thoughtful solutions.
