Macmillan Cancer Support Worker – GI Cancer Team
Band 4 | Full Time | St Bartholomew’s Hospital
Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and compassionate Macmillan Cancer Support Worker to join our Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist Team at St Bartholomew’s Hospital.
This role supports patients throughout their diagnostic and treatment pathway, acting as a key point of contact and ensuring they receive timely information, coordinated care and access to appropriate support services. As stated in the job description, the postholder will “support the coordination of care for GI cancer patients throughout their diagnostic and treatment pathway” and “provide clear information to patients and their families.”

Main Duties
- Coordinate appointments, investigations, blood tests and treatment‑related logistics.
- Provide a single point of contact for patients, carers and GPs.
- Support delivery of Holistic Needs Assessments and health & wellbeing events.
- Offer basic telephone advice and signposting under supervision.
- Maintain accurate cancer databases (CWT, CRS, iQemo).
