Maintenance Engineer | Permanent | Private Hospital | Southampton | Full-time
Spire Southampton Hospital are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their established team on a permanent Full-time basis.
The purpose of this role is to work within the Estates and Engineering department to ensure a high quality service is provided to meet the expectations of the internal and external customers. You will be reporting to the Estates Manager to complete internal and external maintenance and grounds tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Working to a list of requests for general maintenance tasks.
- Completing painting and decoration to a high standard
- Making minor repairs to the internal and external structure, fabric, fixtures and fittings of the facility.
- Keep the grounds of the facility clean and tidy and free from litter.
- Keep the car park in good repair ensuring it is clear of litter and properly swept and that all signage is clean, clear from obstruction and in good repair.
- Ensure any external garden furniture and fittings such as fences and gates are clean and in good repair.
- Move furniture and other items within the hospital as required, and assist the porters with the unloading of heavy deliveries.
- To collect and transport mail, notes, equipment and any other requested items between Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, and other external associated sites.
- Work with the porters and engineers to ensure the smooth running of the hospital
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience coming from a similar role based on the duties and responsibilities stated above.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence.
- Excellent communication and social skills and an open, friendly nature.
- Able to complete highly physical tasks such as cleaning, moving/building furniture, sweeping etc.
- Ability to work without supervision and at your own initiative.
- Although this is a bank contract, you must have the flexibility to work different shifts
- Painting and Decorating experience
Working Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
