We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee and optimise maintenance operations within a fast-paced FMCG environment. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong technical background to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.

We are seeking an experience Maintenance Manager to lead the engineering, maintenance, and facilities operations during an exciting period of growth. Committed to product quality and innovation, this organisation supplies its product to throughout the UK and internationally through major ecommerce channels and direct to customer.

Description

The Maintenance Manager will form a crucial part of the site management team and will be tasked with ensuring maximum equipment reliability through the development and implementation of robust PPM systems. They will ensure optimal facility performance through energy management and sustainability initiatives and will drive continuous improvement through the engineering department.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Drive engineering excellence through automation, Industry 4.0 technologies, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Build and execute reliability strategies for critical assets.
  • Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance using CMMS and best‑practice frameworks.
  • Ensure optimal facility performance through energy management and sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead compliance with HSE regulations, engineering standards, and building requirements.
  • Coordinate audits and inspections, ensuring timely corrective and preventive action.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture, embedding hazard identification, RCA, and strong safety behaviours.
  • Lead and mentor site engineers.
  • Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage performance reviews, coaching, and team capability development.

Profile

The successful Maintenance Manager will posses a range of the following:

  • Time-served Engineer with a minimum HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Background in a fast‑paced engineering environment - ideally FMCG
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing maintenance teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • CMMS knowledge, KPI analysis experience, and understanding of modern maintenance techniques.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance strategies and systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of health & safety within a manufacturing environment.
