Investigo are recruiting a detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead the management accounting function across a multi-entity services business based in Leicester, Hybrid working. Managing a team of three Management Accountants, you will be responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the financials at entity and consolidated management level.
This role sits between a central Group Finance (statutory/reporting) function and a dedicated FP&A team, focusing on owning the underlying numbers, ensuring robust processes, and providing reliable financial information to support both reporting and planning activities.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Delivery
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of x3 Management Accountants
- Allocate responsibility across entities and ensure consistent delivery standards
- Review outputs and ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to deadlines
- Drive a high-performance culture with clear accountability
Management Accounting Ownership (Multi-Entity)
- Oversee the month-end close process across all entities
- Ensure accurate preparation of entity-level management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet ownership
- Maintain full ownership of journals, accruals, prepayments, and cost allocations
- Ensure consistency and standardisation of accounting treatment across entities
Financial Integrity & Control
- Ensure strong control over the integrity of financial data and underlying ledgers
- Maintain and enhance balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Implement and monitor robust internal controls within the management accounting cycle
Cross-Functional Alignment (Group Finance & FP&A)
- Act as the key interface between management accounting, Group Finance, and FP&A
- Provide accurate and complete data to support:
- Group consolidation and statutory reporting (via Group Finance)
- Forecasting, budgeting, and analysis (via FP&A)
- Ensure alignment of outputs with group policies, timelines, and data requirements
- Resolve queries and provide detailed financial breakdowns as required
Operational Finance Oversight
- Ensure accurate cost allocation and tracking across service lines and entities
- Support operational teams in understanding cost base and financial structures
- Oversee areas such as payroll accounting, overhead allocation, and intercompany recharges
Process Improvement & Systems
- Drive improvements in month-end efficiency, standardisation, and automation
- Enhance financial processes to improve accuracy and reduce manual intervention
- Support system improvements and ensure effective use of finance tools
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant role
- Strong experience in a multi-entity environment
- Experience managing and developing finance teams
Salary
£70,000 to £75,000 basic plus full benefits package to include annual performance bonus up to 10% and Hybrid working, 2 days office based
