About the role:
We are seeking a confident, creative and commercially minded Marketing Executive to support the delivery and evolution of Davy’s Wine Merchants brand, portfolio and events activity across all relevant channels. Working across Consumer, Trade and Events channels, this is a broad and varied role with genuine scope to make an impact. It requires excellent communication skills and a natural storyteller’s instinct, producing engaging copy and content across website, email marketing, trade communications, PR, social media and print. Sitting at the heart of the Wine Merchants, the role ensures our wines, campaigns and events are presented with clarity, consistency and commercial focus across both internal and external communications.
Key skills:
· Minimum WSET Level 3 (essential).
· 3+ years’ marketing experience, ideally within wine or drinks.
· Strong copywriting and proofreading skills, with excellent attention to detail.
· Strong organisational skills and ability to multi-task, handling several projects simultaneously while remaining calm under-pressure to meet deadlines
· Confident working with stakeholders across buying, sales, operations and events.
· Comfortable liaising with agencies and external suppliers.
· Commercially aware and confident writing for both retail and trade audiences.
· Good working knowledge of Google Ads and Meta Ads, with an understanding of how paid campaigns support traffic, lead generation and sales.
· Comfortable reviewing performance metrics (CTR, CPC, conversions, ROAS) and using data to inform decisions.
Key responsibilities:
Marketing & Campaign Execution
· Deliver day-to-day marketing activity across Consumer (online and shop), Trade and Events divisions.
· Plan and execute seasonal promotions, offers and product-led campaigns.
· Create engaging copy for newsletters, website, trade communications and social media.
· Produce and coordinate marketing materials including brochures, price lists and tasting collateral.
· Manage and deliver the e-shot calendar for the Merchants division.
· Lead on CRM usage for the Wine Merchants, maintaining accurate customer data and segmentation, and ensuring effective use of contact databases.
· Create and implement regular wholesale newsletters and promotional communications.
· Support customer acquisition initiatives and trade marketing activity.
· Monitor campaign performance and prepare monthly marketing and trends reports for internal stakeholders.
Wine Portfolio & Product Data
· Own and maintain all wine product data within Perfion and related systems.
· Ensure accuracy of vintages, pricing, tasting notes, producer information, awards and technical specifications.
· Coordinate with Buyers, Sales and Operations to manage portfolio updates and product launches.
· Maintain a centralised resource bank of tasting notes, producer profiles, technical sheets and imagery.
· Ensure consistency and accuracy of product information across website, CRM, printed materials and internal systems.
Website & Digital
· Maintain website product listings, imagery and promotional content.
· Liaise with external web developers and SEO agencies to implement updates and improvements.
· Support the coordination and review of paid digital campaigns (Google & Meta) in collaboration with agencies.
· Assist in customer segmentation and targeted communications for Consumer and Trade audiences.
· Ensure brand tone, visual identity and messaging are consistently applied across digital channels.
Events Marketing Support
· Support the Events Manager from a marketing perspective, including:
o Event promotion and communications
o Email campaigns
o Marketing collateral creation
· Assist with tastings and supplier visits for marketing support and content capture.
· Attend internal and external tastings and events to gather content (interviews, photography, video where appropriate).
Content, Copy & Brand Coordination
· Produce portfolio brochures and tasting notes in line with brand guidelines.
· Create and maintain engaging website content, working with SEO partners where required.
· Maintain a structured webpage review schedule and content index.
· Write and proof copy for wholesale and consumer communications, press releases and PR materials.
· Ensure all content reflects Davy’s tone, heritage and brand positioning.
