Position Overview

The Material Planner is responsible for planning and sourcing materials to meet future operational requirements, placing purchase orders with suppliers, coordinating inbound and outbound transportation of goods, and working closely with the warehouse team in the UK to ensure timely receipt and availability of materials.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Organize, execute and control material planning and order management activities including actual order processing in the ERP.
  • Implement and maintain supplier management.
  • Provide and maintain master data management, including price and condition management, obtaining master data and creating new business partner files in the system with the help of MDM and Procurement when needed.
  • Request, evaluate and compare quotations and align them with the technical drawings with help of R&D, Procurement and product management when needed;
  • Process orders (automatic purchase requisition or manual handling) in consideration of optimum days inventory held as instructed by the Management.
  • Create reports about material stock, material requisitions, material consumption and further key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Share inspection reports with the supplier with help of Quality and follow up corrections of defective deliveries.
  • Organize transports, pickups and clearances.
  • Execute shipment tracking and monitor scheduled/on-time deliveries with adherence to customs laws and process.
  • Support in Warehouse activities such as stock-keeping, restocking and staging of shipping products;
  • Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Managing stock within the Budget / Target and supporting with analyzing and solving slow moving and obsolete stock.
  • Negotiate prices and payment terms with the supplier;
  • Support optimization of material management processes and strategies/policies;
  • Support implementation and maintenance of supplier development;
  • Perform yearly supplier evaluation.
  • Ensure the raw material required for production is on time by performing both actual and supportive activities, to ensure the process runs smooth in order to have the desired production output and on time delivery.
  • Any other tasks within the supply chain scope as per the situation and requirement of the department.

  • Skills

    • Relevant Education or Experience in material planning, or supply chain, preferably in mobile hydraulics, trailers, or heavy equipment.
    • Some proficiency in SAP (preferred but not essential).
    • Strong communication skills.
