Purpose

As a Mathematics Intervention Teacher, you will deliver a broad and differentiated curriculum to students of varying abilities who require additional support to meet age-related expectations. You will be skilled at pinpointing misconceptions and finding effective ways to help students make meaningful progress within a positive learning experience. You will share our commitment to the highest achievement for all students, ensuring that no limits are placed on their aspirations. You will work closely with a vibrant and ambitious faculty team to enhance our curriculum, communicate productively with parents about their child's development, and bring a firm belief that every student can succeed.

Deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum to students of varying abilities who require intervention to meet age-related expectations.

Prepare and teach maths lessons of a high standard that are tailored to the specific educational needs and designated programmes of study for your students.

Identify where specific misconceptions have arisen for children and implement effective strategies to help them make meaningful progress.

Establish a positive and engaging learning experience that supports students in achieving their full academic potential.

Monitor, assess and report on the attendance, progress and attainment of students to help close gaps between different groups.

Maintain discipline and a pleasant learning environment in accordance with school policies regarding behaviour, uniform and punctuality.

Contribute positively to the Maths Faculty by co-planning, developing resources and participating in academic or pastoral meetings.

Communicate regularly and productively with parents and carers regarding their child's progress, behaviour and development.

Participate in the department homework policy and organise motivating trips or events to enhance the students' educational experience.
