The role

As a Mechanical Fitter, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining the mechanical integrity of key estates equipment that underpins operations essential to national defence. This is a role where your engineering skill keeps people safe, ensures operational readiness, and supports the smooth running of one of the most unique and important sites in the UK.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

• Completing planned preventative maintenance to support operational objectives.

Identifying, diagnosing and resolving mechanical and system defects.

Ensuring all work follows current processes and contributing suggestions to improve productivity.

Working within all Health & Safety legislation, Safe Systems of Work and Babcock policies.

Providing support and technical guidance to other trades where required.

This is a full‑time, on‑site role (36 hours per week) based at Coulport.

Essential experience of the Mechanical Fitter - Estates:

• Mechanical systems and equipment maintenance.
• Pressure systems and equipment knowledge.
• Boiler repair and maintenance experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Competent in maintenance documentation, risk assessments and COSHH.
  
  
  

Qualifications for the Mechanical Fitter - Estates:

• Mechanical Fitter SVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  
  
  

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
