To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our well-established and highly-regarded Microbiology Division. SOCOTEC is the leading provider of Environment and Safety service across UK. SOCOTEC’s teams undertake a range of services to assist clients in microbiology, delivering analysis and technical advice.
We’re looking for a Technical Manager to join an enthusiastic Microbiology team committed to protecting worker health and the delivery of consultancy services to clients across the UK & Ireland.
Reporting to the Operations Director you will:

SOCOTEC is the leading provider of Environment and Safety service across UK. SOCOTEC’s teams undertake a range of services to assist clients in microbiology, delivering analysis and technical advice.
We’re looking for a Technical Manager to join an enthusiastic Microbiology team committed to protecting worker health and the delivery of consultancy services to clients across the UK & Ireland.
Reporting to the Operations Director you will:
- Be responsible for the technical development and implementation of our specialist microbiology services
- Be instrumental in the professional development and advancement of our technicians and trainees
- Maintain, monitor and continuously improve the performance of staff, equipment, systems and procedures to company standards and industry best practices
- Experience of delivering high quality, technical microbiology services
Our Environmental team is made up of many different specialists all operating in within different areas of expertise. The main areas we cover are Environmental Monitoring and Consultancy together with specialist laboratories to support our services. Our services range from on site monitoring and sample collection, ranging from local businesses to large Government contracts, to consultancy works on large contaminated land projects, complimented with onsite works for dust, noise, and local exhaust emissions. We pride ourselves in our ability to consult, monitor and test for our clients, supporting all their needs in one place, using our highly trained employees.
