Role Description This is a full-time, on-site MIG Welder role based in Peterlee. The MIG Welder will interpret engineering drawings and work orders to set up welding equipment, select appropriate materials, and perform MIG welding on components and assemblies. Daily tasks include preparing and cleaning metal surfaces, positioning and clamping workpieces, performing welds to required specifications, and inspecting completed work for quality and accuracy. The role also involves basic maintenance of welding equipment, adherence to safety standards and PPE requirements, and collaboration with supervisors and team members to meet production targets and deadlines. The MIG Welder may support related fabrication tasks such as grinding, cutting, and fitting to ensure high-quality finished products.
Qualifications
A relevant NVQ Level 3 in Welding.
Experience: A solid background in MIG welding and the ability to pass a trade test.
Mindset: A safety-first approach and a keen eye for detail.
Flexibility: Comfort working in a shift-rotation environment (Days, Afternoons, or Nights).
