MLRO (Part-Time, 2 Days per Week)

A specialist bridging lender providing flexible short-term property finance solutions to investors across England and Wales is seeking an experienced and hands-on MLRO to lead its AML/CTF framework. As a growing and ambitious lending business, they remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and financial crime prevention. This is a remote-first, part-time position (2 days per week) with direct access to the Board.

The Role

The firm is looking for a proactive and commercially aware MLRO to take ownership of the company’s AML/CTF framework. You will act as the primary point of contact for all financial crime matters, ensuring the business meets its obligations under UK regulations and industry best practice. This is a senior and highly autonomous role, suited to someone confident operating independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the firm’s MLRO under POCA 2002
• Ensure full compliance with the MLR 2017
• Serve as the main point of contact for the NCA and manage all SAR submissions
• Review, assess and submit SARs where appropriate

Key Requirements

• Experience as an MLRO or Deputy MLRO within lending, banking, property finance, or financial services
• Strong working knowledge of UK AML legislation and expectations
• Experience in property lending/bridging finance (highly desirable)
• Skilled in SAR filing and liaising with the NCA
• Ability to operate independently and provide pragmatic compliance advice
• Strong written communication and reporting capability
• Professional compliance qualification desirable
