We are currently on the lookout for a Cook Two to work for the “Silver Accredited Food for Life, School Catering Service”. You will provide outstanding support to the School Chef to assist in the effective operation of the kitchen, and take charge of running the kitchen in their absence.

Your role will include serving nutritious, healthy meals that pupils will love and will directly assist in maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness of the kitchen. There will be a chance to be involved in all aspects of the kitchen management; including motivating and leading the team, participating in lunch time services, ensuring food standards are kept high, ordering and supplier liaison, training and coaching more junior staff, as well as ensuring that all Food Health & Safety requirements are met.

Experience in a similar role is preferential but not essential. If you are driven, ambitious and if this sounds like a job for you then get in touch...

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our students. You are advised that this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and therefore this post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Please be aware that under Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance, the Council is required to undertake online screening checks on candidates recruited to work in school settings. If you are selected as a preferred candidate you will be required to submit details of any social media accounts to our automated screening tool. Your username(s) and password(s) will not be shared with the Council or anywhere else.

All checks and associated data processing will be carried out in compliance with data protection requirements.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
