We are seeking an experienced and innovative leader to provide clinical, operational and strategic leadership across our Mortuary, Bereavement and Medical Examiner Services at Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals.
You will ensure that all services across both sites operate in full compliance with HTA standards and codes of practice, working closely with the Trust's Designated Individual. You will lead a team dedicated to delivering safe, effective and compassionate care for deceased patients and support for the bereaved with dignity, respect and sensitivity at all times.
This is a key leadership role requiring a balance of operational excellence and professional expertise, along with a strategic approach to continue to integrate and develop our services. You will be an engaging and collaborative leader, confident in managing diverse teams and skilled at building strong working relationships with external agencies including Coroner’s Services, Police, Funeral Directors and Local Authorities.
You will be a qualified Anatomical Pathology Technologist with a Level 4 Royal Society for Public Health Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology (or equivalent), and bring significant experience of working within a complex mortuary environment.

- Provide effective leadership and management of the Mortuary, Bereavement and Medical Examiner Services across ESNEFT, in line with local and national policy
- Be responsible for the Medical Examiner Service for all non-acute deaths including community hospital sites.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the service and financial strategy including responsibility for monitoring the service budget and ensure the achievement of financial balance working closely with the divisional finance team
- Lead and develop technical services in the Mortuary, ensuring safe, high-quality and dignified care for the deceased.
