Description

Barnes Law is seeking a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join its Dispute Resolution practice. This role is suited to a driven individual who is keen to develop strong technical skills, contribute to business development, and grow alongside a developing practice.

The position is hybrid, with set working hours and a requirement to work in accordance with the firm’s core office hours. This is not a flexible working role. An initial probation period will apply.

The Role

You will support and work closely with senior members of the Dispute Resolution team on a range of contentious matters. The role offers early responsibility, client exposure, and the opportunity to be involved in the strategic development of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the management of dispute resolution matters from instruction to conclusion
  • Drafting pleadings, applications, correspondence, and court documents
  • Conducting legal research and preparing legal analysis
  • Liaising professionally with clients, counsel, courts, and third parties
  • Maintaining accurate case files and compliance with internal procedures
  • Supporting and participating in business development and marketing activities
  • Contributing to the ongoing growth and development of the Dispute Resolution practice
  • Candidate Profile

    Essential:

    • Newly Qualified Solicitor (or due to qualify imminently)
    • Strong drafting, research, and communication skills
    • Good commercial awareness
    • High level of organisation and attention to detail
    • Professional, reliable, and conscientious approach to work

    Desirable:

    • Demonstrable interest in dispute resolution
    • Willingness to engage in business development activities
    • Ambition to develop professionally within a growing firm
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

    Working Arrangement

    • Hybrid role (office and remote working)
    • Set working hours in line with firm requirements
