Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief Nurse the postholder will work with Care Group teams, Executive / Corporate Directors and external partners to achieve Trust objectives and make a positive contribution to the provision of health services across the local economy.
The Nurse Director will work with the Clinical Director and Deputy Chief Operating Officer to drive effective and efficient delivery of operational performance of all care standards and associated regulatory requirements within their portfolio (planned / unplanned care), ensuring sustainable delivery of high-quality patient care, safety processes, operational standards and quality / service improvement programmes.
The post holder will develop and deliver approaches to ensure patient quality and safety, care and operational efficiency, through the development of short-, medium- and longer-term transformational plans both internally and externally in partnership with our health and social care partners and in line with the 'NHS Five Year Forward View'. Where appropriate they will provide oversight, assurance and delivery of statutory Trust-wide accountabilities for quality and safety and screening on behalf of the Chief Nurse.The postholder will provide strategic clinical leadership to Care Groups Leads to ensure consistent and high-quality services are delivered across their respective area of responsibility.

Provide a highly visible, accessible and authoritative presence to support the delivery of their portfolio and the Trust's overall objectives and service priorities.
Provide comprehensive leadership to support the progression, development and positive reputation of the nursing profession.
Support the Care Groups to interpret, implement and achieve national and regulatory recommends, standards and mandates relating to their area of care.
Actively develop and improve professional and corporate standards, policies and procedures.
Be proactive to meet changes both locally and nationally driven and will be able to put in place strategies to deliver changing mandates, assumptions and requirements.
Lead on the compliance and assurance framework for Trust-wide regulatory functions related to their portfolio.
