About Our Nursery

Glasgow Oakwood, has a capacity of 172 and situated three miles south of the city, is made up of two buildings; Oak Cottage as a purpose-built facility for children aged 0 to 3, designed to support children at each age and stage of their development, and the Pre-School Centre, housed in a large Victorian villa and is home to children aged 3-5 to challenge children and prepare them for school. Oakwood nursery also provides after school care for children aged 5 to 12 years old. The rooms are bright, airy and alluring. The garden is spacious and exciting developing children's confidence, self-esteem and physical skills allowing children to expand their love of the outdoors. The team have worked hard to create an environment which facilitates a high standard of care and education, through high quality learning experiences which ensure children are eager learners fully equipped for their school adventures. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and delivering educational activities that promote children's development.
• Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
• Take on the role of Key Person, fostering b partnerships with children and their families.

Track and report on children's progress through observations and assessments.

What We’re Looking For

• Level 2 qualification in early years education/childcare.
• Experience working with children under 5.
• Empathy and understanding – each child is unique.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
  
  

You may have previous experience working with children, ideally as an Early Years Educator, Nursery Practitioner, Nursery Assistant or Nursery Nurse.
