WGM Engineering Ltd, part of RSK Group has an exciting vacancy for an Occupational Health advisor to join our HSEQ Function on a part time permanent basis covering 3 days per week This is a hybrid role, primarily office‑based in Glasgow, with occasional visits to sites and workshops.

About The Role
Reporting to the HSEQ Director, you will manage and coordinate occupational health services, working closely with employees, managers, HR, Health & Safety colleagues, and external occupational health providers. You’ll play a key role in supporting wellbeing, managing health risks, and ensuring occupational health arrangements are aligned with business needs and company values.
Key Responsibilities
Provide competent advice and guidance on a wide range of occupational health matters.
Support managers in implementing recommended controls and safe systems of work.
Coordinate occupational health referrals, medicals, health surveillance, and case management.
Monitor and maintain health surveillance programmes and ensure compliance with legislation.
Support return‑to‑work processes and provide guidance on fitness for work.
Coordinate with external occupational health providers and monitor performance against SLAs.
Manage confidential medical records and ensure GDPR‑compliant handling of data.
Support with post‑incident and with‑cause drug and alcohol testing where required.
Analyse occupational health data and report on trends, risks, and compliance gaps.
Contribute to occupational health training, wellbeing initiatives, and awareness campaigns.
Support policy development and continuous improvement across occupational health and wellbeing.
Person Specification
A relevant qualification in Occupational Health (e.g. Degree, NVQ, or equivalent), with NMC registration where applicable.
Experience delivering occupational health services within engineering, construction, or operational environments.
Strong understanding of employer legal responsibilities relating to occupational health.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple cases and programmes simultaneously.
Empathetic, professional, and credible, with a strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice.
