We are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our established Band 5 Occupational Therapy rotation. This is an exciting opportunity at Band 5 level to gain experience in the area specialist orthopaedics and working with patient with neuro-musculoskeletal conditions.
The post holder will be rotating through following clinical teams:
Job description
The post holder will be managed by the Clinical Specialist Manager/s and accountable to the Director of Therapy Services. Clinical supervision will be provided by the Band 7 or Band 6 Occupational Therapist in the team and the post holder will be expected to supervise other members of staff and students as allocated.
The post holder will provide cover for administrative and clinical tasks in the temporary absence of another member of the team, as appropriate to own level of experience.

Qualifications
Essential
- DipCOT/ Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Member of COT or recognised equivalent.
- Registered with HPC.
Experience
Essential
- 6 months experience as Therapy/Rehabilitation Technician or Equivalent relevant experience in any other clinical setting as OT student
- Broad knowledge of current best practice in OT and medical conditions associated with the clinical area.
- Understanding of team dynamics and MDT working.
Desirable
- 6 months NHS experience as Band 5 OT.
- Interest in and further study in clinical area
- Knowledge of neurological and biomechanical treatment approaches for complex disability.
- Awareness of some specialist equipment relevant to the post.

- Good Written and Verbal communication with colleagues and patients and other agencies.
- Able to communicate with a variety of people, occasionally in emotional distress
- Sound clinical reasoning and reflective skills.
- Good organisation of self and time.
- Ability to reflect and appraise own performance.
- Ability to self-motivate and initiate activity.
- Computer Literacy . - Use of Microsoft office . Email and other web based systems
Desirable
- RCOT Specialist Section/ other Special Interest Group membership.
