Operations Insights Associate – COO Office

London (Hybrid: 4 days office / 1 WFH)

The COO Office exists to provide analytical and execution leverage to senior operational leaders.

As an Operations Insights Associate, you will work closely with a senior executive (COO or SVP-level), turning data, ideas and direction into clear analysis, decisions and follow-through. You will handle the heavy analytical and execution work so senior leaders can focus on complex problems.

This is not an admin role. It is not project-management theatre. It is hands-on, analytical, and execution-focused.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyse data using Excel / Google Sheets and BI tools (e.g. Looker) and turn it into clear, actionable insight.
  • Build business cases, options papers, and senior-level presentations.
  • Track initiatives, KPIs/OKRs, risks and dependencies; chase actions and ensure follow-through.
  • Prepare concise briefing packs ahead of senior meetings.
  • Identify operational gaps or bottlenecks and draft practical solutions.
  • Support ad-hoc analysis as priorities shift in a fast growing environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with ambiguity.
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets capability.
  • Able to produce clear, high-quality slides quickly.
  • Structured thinker with strong written communication.
  • High attention to detail and strong ownership.
  • Comfortable working closely with senior executives.
  • Low ego, reliable, gets things done.

  • Experience

    • Graduate or 1–3 years’ experience in consulting, strategy, operations, analytics, or similar.
    • Strong academic background (e.g. economics, engineering, maths, sciences, business with analytics).
    • Service leavers are welcome to apply. A degree is not required where equivalent analytical, briefing, and execution experience can be demonstrated
    • Exposure to BI tools (Looker / SQL) is a plus, not essential.

    How The Team Works

    • You will be primarily aligned to one senior executive.
    • You will also be part of a small COO Office team, sharing standards, tools and knowledge.
    • Priorities are managed centrally to protect focus and quality.

    What This Role Is Not

    • Not an EA or admin role.
    • Not a pure reporting or dashboard role.
    • Not a “wait to be told” job.

    Why This Role

    • Direct exposure to senior leadership.
    • High learning velocity.
    • Real impact on decisions and execution.
    • Clear progression for strong performers.

    Send

    Preferred application method:

    • A one-page CV, and
    • A short (max 300 words) example of a time you took a complex, messy situation and turned it into a clear, successful outcome.
