OCR Alpha is partnered with a London-based hedge fund to hire an Operations Manager to take ownership of day-to-day trading operations and broader operational oversight. This is an exciting opportunity within a growing long/short equity fund, offering strong long-term development potential as the platform continues to expand.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily reconciliations across trades, cash, positions and P&L.
- Manage core treasury activities, including cash, margin and FX.
- Maintain trading and portfolio management systems, alongside compliance workflows.
- Provide day-to-day operational support to the investment team and COO.
- Manage relationships with prime brokers, fund administrators and key vendors.
- Support trade booking, NAV oversight and operational change initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong operations background within an equities-focused hedge fund, asset manager or proprietary trading environment, with experience overseeing the day-to-day running of key middle- and back-office processes. They should be comfortable operating in a broad, hands-on role, partnering closely with the investment team and wider business, while also taking ownership of third-party relationships, controls and process improvement initiatives.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years’ experience in hedge fund operations, prime brokerage, trade support or a desk-aligned middle office role supporting live trading.
- Strong familiarity with funding, settlement risk, corporate actions, margin and collateral, and regulatory touchpoints.
- A proven ability to improve processes, rather than simply run BAU.
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to interact effectively with PMs and senior stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
