Join Our Team as a Housekeeper

Lawnfield House is seeking a dedicated and reliable Housekeeper to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents. If you take pride in your work and want to contribute to the well-being of others, we would love to hear from you.

About Us

The Council for Social Witness is part of the work and witness of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland and its aim is to provide care for residents / service users in a specifically Christian ethos and environment, placing great emphasis on offering spiritual support and encouragement to residents, as well as physical care.

Lawnfield House is a 20-bed residential respite care home for service users who have a physical disability, learning disability or sensory impairment, and also for older people.

The Home operates a No Smoking Policy.

About The Role

DOMESTIC DUTIES

  • To clean and tidy toilets
  • To clean and tidy bathrooms.
  • To clean and tidy bedrooms.
  • To clean and tidy corridors.
  • To clean and tidy sitting rooms.
  • To clean and tidy offices, treatment rooms etc.
  • To follow procedures for the appropriate disposal of waste.
  • To make beds as required.
  • To use all equipment according to appropriate instructions.
  • To maintain dignity, respect and confidentiality as required.
  • To support care staff in meeting the needs of the residents.
  • To respect the personal needs and wishes of the residents at all time.
  • To follow appropriate health and safety procedures.
  • To maintain written records as required.

LAUNDRY DUTIES

  • To wash, iron, itemise and distribute residents clothes.
  • To wash and iron all household laundry e.g. sheets, pillowcases, napkins etc.
  • Minor sewing repairs.
  • Ensure that all appliances are kept in good order and free from abuse, in compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duty such as Cleaning Duties as required by the management of the Home, which is necessary for the support and well-being of the residents.

Required Criteria

  • Evidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of older people or those with a learning disability
  • Awareness of health and safety practices within a working or residential environment
  • Willingness to work additional hours to meet the requirements of the Home
  • Willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland
