Position: Packaging and Content Designer
Employment type: Full-time, On-Site · 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Location: 4 New Concordia Wharf, Mill Street, London SE1 2BB
Who are we?
Established in 2018, The Basic Ingredients Ltd is a BRCGS Grade AA certified, clean-label food company headquartered in London Bridge, with a Dutch trading entity, The Basic Ingredients B.V., in Rotterdam. Our own brand, Emma Basic, promises ‘Never Any Additives’ — no emulsifiers, sweeteners, colourings, or ultra-processed elements like refined oils. We want pack design that’s spare, uncluttered, no visual noise.
With a high-performing team of ten, we generate annual revenue of just under £10 million across the UK, EU, and Far East. We move fast — every team member has direct commercial impact and access to leadership. You’ll work with genuine autonomy: trusted, respected, and given the budget to keep your skills sharp.
Job Description
1. Create all product pack and label designs; update progress, artwork status and launch deadlines at the weekly NPD/EPD meeting.
2. Maintain a complete and current image library for every SKU — coordinating quarterly studio shoots with external photographers, sourcing correct images from suppliers following first production, and shooting product in-house where required.
3. Maintain Emma Basic and e-commerce website product listings to BASIC-38 standard, ensuring content is accurate, on-brand, and visually consistent.
4. Compose and publish content on the Company's LinkedIn & Instagram channels at a minimum cadence of one post per week.
5. Collaborate on sales and marketing activities — including exhibitions, in-store demos, trade show and fan engagement activities.
What we're looking for
· Detail-obsessed —
· Visually consistent — every image, listing and post is on-brand and recognisably Emma Basic.
· Strong eye for type — talented at typography and font choice and know how it affects a pack's standout and legibility on shelf.
· Self-directed and organised — you keep a clear to-do list, prioritise across multiple live projects, and run the studio shoot schedule and content calendar without being chased.
· Commercially aware — you understand how design supports sales, trade shows and customer relationships, and pitch in wherever the team needs it.
What we offer
· Basic annual salary of £31,000–£35,000, depending on portfolio and track record.
· Personal development budget of £2,000 annually — courses, training, or other professional or personal development (e.g. AI design or videography courses, or PT).
· Year-end bonus based on Company and personal performance.
· Workplace pension – 3% Employer Contribution (statutory auto-enrolment minimum).
· Free supply of Emma Basic products for personal use.
· Incentive pay as set out in a separate Incentive Letter, in line with the Company's Incentive Pay Principles. Incentive pay will be set up once your 3-month probation period has been completed.
· 20 days of paid holiday annually, plus the 8 UK bank holidays (28 days total) — the UK statutory minimum.
