Background An opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join our Financial Mis-Selling team, which forms part of Hugh James wider claimant collective litigation practice.
The team acts for large cohorts of claimants in complex, high-value financial product and professional negligence claims, including collective claims against failed law firms, business interruption insurance claims, business energy claims and unregulated collective investment schemes, as well as mis-sold pensions and investments. Many matters involve systemic wrongdoing affecting hundreds or thousands of clients and require coordinated, strategic case management.
The team handles both litigated claims and complaints before the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Our work frequently sits at the intersection of consumer protection, regulatory breaches and group litigation strategy.
This opportunity will afford the successful candidate the chance to contribute to structured, large-scale redress claims where consistency, accuracy and strategic thinking are critical. - Managing initial client enquiries and undertaking structured eligibility and risk assessments in line with project-wide criteria.
- Law degree, equivalent academic background or relevant experience.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in claimant litigation and collective redress.
- Highly organised and comfortable working across large volumes of claims with strong attention to detail.
