Do you want to further your skills in Leadership in a supportive and experienced team?

We're recruiting a part-time Principal Child Psychotherapist to lead on developing child psychotherapy in Buckinghamshire, as well as make a significant contribution to clinical thinking in the service.

To be successful, you should be a highly skilled clinician and have a passion about supporting and developing other clinicians, as about working with complex clients. You will provide supervision to qualified child psychotherapists and trainees across the county and offer clinical expertise to the wider team.

You will be based in our Recovery Team (formerly known as Getting More Help), which is a reflective and supportive multidisciplinary team where you will have a protected child psychotherapy caseload. Following service redesign, the team is fully aligned to the iThrive model of children and families requiring extensive and specialised input.

Our CAMHS clinic is part of the thriving Oxford Health Trust which has a large team of child psychotherapist who meet regularly to share our work and consider new learning. The Trust values staff well-being and is keen to provide regular training opportunities.

Please note this role is part-time working 22.5 hours per week.

  • To take a lead in developing child psychotherapy within Buckinghamshire.
  • To provide a high quality specialist child and adolescent psychotherapy service to clients with complex mental health needs.
  • To offer advice, consultancy, training and supervision to other CAMHS staff and take a lead role in the MDT as principal child psychotherapist.
  • To offer service supervision to ACP Child Psychotherapy Trainees.
  • To contribute to service development, research and audit, as appropriate

The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role. Please note if you are based outside of the UK you will need to hold ACP registration in order to be considered for this role.
