As a Passive Fire Protection & Fire Door Surveyor, you will deliver detailed inspection and survey services relating to fire doors, compartmentation and associated passive fire protection systems across a diverse client portfolio.
You will assess the condition, compliance and integrity of passive fire protection measures within existing buildings, providing clear, evidence-based reports to support remediation strategies, compliance programmes and building safety obligations.
This role is survey-led and inspection-focused, ensuring passive systems perform as intended and are aligned with statutory guidance and industry standards.

Conducting fire door inspections in accordance with recognised industry standards and guidance, assessing installation quality, condition, certification, ironmongery and performance integrity.
Undertaking compartmentation surveys, including inspection of fire stopping, cavity barriers, service penetrations and structural fire protection measures.
Identifying defects in passive fire systems and categorising risk levels in accordance with regulatory expectations.
Producing detailed, accurate and evidence-backed reports including photographic records and remedial recommendations.
Using digital inspection tools and internal reporting systems to ensure accurate data capture and traceability.
Interpreting Findings In Alignment With Relevant Standards Including:

Interpreting Findings In Alignment With Relevant Standards Including:
- Approved Document B
- Relevant British Standards (e.g. BS 8214, BS 476 series, BS EN 1634)
- ASFP guidance
- Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
Liaising professionally with clients, contractors and internal teams regarding findings and technical clarifications.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of passive fire protection standards and industry best practice.
Supporting audit readiness and third-party accreditation requirements where applicable.

Formal training in fire door inspection (e.g. FDIS Diploma or equivalent) desirable.
Knowledge Of Passive Fire Protection Principles Including:
- Fire-stopping systems
- Compartmentation
- Structural fire protection
- Door assemblies and hardware compliance
Understanding of relevant legislation and building regulations.
Experience working in residential, healthcare, commercial or public sector buildings desirable.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify installation defects and compliance gaps.
Ability to produce clear and structured technical reports.
CSCS card or equivalent site competency certification desirable.
Demonstrable experience in passive fire protection inspection and fire door surveying.
Formal training in fire door inspection (e.g. FDIS Diploma or equivalent) desirable.
Knowledge Of Passive Fire Protection Principles Including:
Experience working in residential, healthcare, commercial or public sector buildings desirable.

Working arrangements
We embrace smarter working practices which offer our employees the opportunity to work their hours flexibly and remotely where their roles and business needs allow. In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work mobile across various sites around the UK Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00.
