The Site Operations Centre are seeking proactive and compassionate Patient Transfer Assistants to support the safe, efficient and timely transfer of patients within the hospital. In this essential role, you'll provide support and collaborate with clinical and operational teams across the Trust to deliver a high-quality service to our patients at all times.
You'll be responsible for daily tasks such as the transfer of patients and equipment between departments, stocking of linen trolleys and supplies, ensuring cleanliness of wheelchairs and beds, and performing urgent runs to the labs or for diagnostic imaging. You will also play an important role in maintaining bed/trolley stock, ensuring they are clean, available, and ready for use, while fostering a safe and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, adhere to infection control policies, and maintain patient safety at all times. You will also be required to wear a headset for prompt communication and participate in Basic Life Support training.
To provide support to the Corporate Site Operations team transferring and escorting patients, ensuring an efficient, effective, and high-quality service is provided. This role will require the daily completion of the ED Checklist, which incorporates the checking on linen trollies, the cleanliness of our wheelchairs and beds as well as urgent runs to labs.
The role includes working as part of a team on a monthly rota which runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
