- Delivering Expertise: Provide high-quality advice on LGPS and Teachers pension schemes to staff, schools, and external partners.
- Leading Returns & Reconciliations: Manage monthly and annual returns and reconcile data across payroll and pension systems.
- Supporting People: Offer compassionate, tailored support to employees and bereaved families on sensitive pension matters.
- Driving Improvement: Lead on process reviews, system enhancements, and contribute to strategic pension projects.
- Mentoring & Collaboration: Support the Pensions Administrator, and work closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, and external stakeholders.
Required Skills:

- Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex pension matters clearly to a range of audiences.
- IT and Systems Proficiency
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel and pension systems (knowledge of iTrent and UPM is desirable).
- Autonomous and Flexible Working
- Capable of managing and prioritising workload independently, adapting to shifting demands and deadlines.
- Relationship Management
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams, external providers (e.g. LPPA), and scheme members.
- Process Improvement and Accuracy
- Experience in reviewing and enhancing systems and processes, with a meticulous approach to checking and verifying data and documentation.
