Description

About Us

Nobody’s Child is for the free thinkers, the dreamers, and the go-getters. Born in 2015, we’ve spent the last decade creating clothes that feel as good as they look for people that embrace individuality, live with purpose, and want to leave the world a little better than they found it. It’s been 10 years of creativity, growth, and bold ideas, and the values that guide us haven’t changed.

About You

Reporting into the People & Culture Lead, our dedicated People Advisor will play a key role in shaping the employee experience across our growing retail business.

As our People & Culture Advisor (Employee Relations Specialist), you’ll act as a trusted partner to our retail leaders and store teams, providing expert advice and hands-on support across all areas of employee relations and people practices.

You’ll ensure we deliver fair, consistent, and values-driven people outcomes while helping to build a positive and engaging workplace culture. You will spend your time at both our Head office and visiting managers and teams in store locations across the UK.

Day to day, you'll be responsible for:

  • Serving as the first point of contact for all employee relations matters within the retail division, providing pragmatic, solution-focused advice.
  • Coach and support line managers on performance, conduct, absence, and grievance processes, ensuring compliance with policy and employment law.
  • Partner closely with store and area managers to promote positive employee engagement and retention.
  • Collaborate with the wider People Team on policy development, wellbeing initiatives, and continuous improvement of people processes.
  • Support investigations and hearings, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
  • Monitor key people metrics (e.g., turnover, absence, ER cases) and share insights to inform decision-making.
  • Assist in delivering training and workshops to enhance manager capability across the business.
  • Culture champion, leading with our core values at the forefront.

To hit the ground running, you'll come with:

  • Proven experience in an employee relations or HR advisory role, ideally within a fast-paced retail or multi-site environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and best practice HR processes.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a calm and confident approach to complex situations.
  • Empathetic, approachable, and able to balance people-first thinking with commercial awareness.
  • A proactive problem solver with great attention to detail and a hands-on attitude.
  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) preferred.

  • If this sounds like your next opportunity, please apply and we will be in touch!

At Nobody’s Child, we are committed to creating an inclusive, diverse and equitable workplace. We aim to ensure that we are always recruiting, retaining and promoting a diverse mix of talent and encourage all to apply to join our journey!
