University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for Band 2 and Band 3 roles. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship. 1 x 7 hour post - positioned at Macclesfield District General Hospital. Support is required on an occasional basis at Leighton Hospital, VIN and surrounding clinics, which include Knutsford Community Hospital and Congleton War Memorial Hospital.
Working hours are Thursday and Friday – 08.30 – 12.00 each day. You will be asked to cover one 3.5 hour shift per month and this will result in one of the weekday shifts as an off duty day that month.
The aim of the advert is to seek a candidate to appoint these hours to.
The candidates must have Full UK driving licence and have the use of a car for travel. This is an essential aspect of this role, and if this can’t be met – candidates need not apply.
The post holder is required for the collection of venous blood samples for pathological analysis.
The post holder will be required to work independently and as part of a team when required.
They will be asked to liaise with other health care professionals, clinicians, laboratory staff, patients and/or their representatives, both in person and over the telephone.
The role involves handling biological samples that may contain pathogenic micro-organisms; therefore, ensuring that all procedures are adhered to when undertaking blood sampling according to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and the policies and procedures of the department, especially in relation to Health & Safety and Quality.
The post holder must be able to support the department in multiple venues, when required
