Are you passionate about supporting young people as they explore life’s big questions and discover purpose, community, and hope? Do you thrive in creative, relational spaces and enjoy starting new things that make a difference?
We’re looking for a committed and compassionate Pioneer Youth Worker to help shape an exciting new role in Leigh Park.
Based at Park Community School, you’ll draw on your youth work and chaplaincy experience to lead, inspire and support those exploring or new to faith. You'll be encouraged and supported to develop fresh initiatives - both within the school and in the wider community.
As Pioneer Youth Worker, You Will
- work on invitational and worship activity within the school day
- establish a new worshipping community with discipleship opportunities for adults and children
- connect the schools work with the existing church congregation and activity to build a coherent, mixed ecology in the parish
We’re looking for someone with a heart for young people, a collaborative spirit, and the confidence to pioneer new approaches. You should be comfortable working within a school setting and eager to explore creative ways to build community beyond the classroom.
This role is part of the Diocese of Portsmouth’s Vision and Strategy for the next five years, which includes plans to create new church plants and worshipping communities across our diocese. You can read more about the plans for this project here.
