Operating in a fast-paced and highly operational environment, the business specialises in the preparation and supply of fresh food products to retail customers across the UK. With continued growth and increasing investment across operations, engineering, systems, and product development, the organisation is delivering a number of strategic programmes aimed at strengthening operational capability and supporting future growth. To support this transformation, the business is seeking an experienced Portfolio Lead to provide structure, governance, and oversight across its portfolio of projects and programmes.
The Role
This is a newly created senior role responsible for overseeing the delivery of a diverse portfolio of programmes and projects across the organisation. Working closely with senior leadership, the Portfolio Lead will ensure the project pipeline is prioritised, structured, and effectively governed, providing clear reporting and visibility to support decision-making at executive level. This is a high-impact role with strong organisational visibility, offering the opportunity to shape and develop the company’s portfolio management approach as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide portfolio-level oversight across multiple programmes and projects across the organisation
- Ensure the project pipeline is prioritised, structured, and aligned with business strategy
- Establish and maintain strong governance, reporting, and delivery visibility for senior leadership
- Monitor project progress, risks, dependencies, and resource priorities across the portfolio
- Provide clear portfolio reporting and insight to executive leadership and governance forums
- Act as the key link between project managers and senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment and delivery discipline
- Lead and develop a team of project managers and delivery specialists
- Embed consistent PMO frameworks, tools, and ways of working to strengthen delivery capability across the organisation
