We are excited to launch this innovative pilot role led and funded by Lancashire & South Cumbria Cancer Alliance and hosted by the Primary Care Training Hub, aimed at cancer education across primary care.

Please note, a 10-minute Presentation is required to be presented on the interview date. Should you be called for interview, you will then need to prepare to deliver and send your presentation to lauren.butler4@nhs.net.The presentation can be in MS Powerpoint format and should focus on the following question: "Can you tell us what your first two weeks in this job would look like for you, what would be your first three priorities and who would be your key stakeholders that you would engage with?"

Interviews are scheduled for 29th & 30th June 2026.

Job description

The Primary Care Education Facilitator (Early Diagnosis of Cancer) plays a key role in improving early cancer diagnosis by supporting the education and training of primary care staff. The role focuses on enhancing the knowledge, skills and confidence of GPs, Practice Nurses and other primary care staff in recognising early signs and symptoms of cancer, encouraging patients to participate in screening programmes and ensuring best practices in patient communication and care.

  • Competent in using online education tools and digital platforms
  • Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate keyboard skills.

    Whilst this employment/secondment is with the Lancashire and South Cumbria Primary Care Training Hub (L&SC PCTH), the role is led by the Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Alliance, working in partnership together.
