Lead change with traders and vendors to enhance efficiency and controls!

As a Prime Financial Services Trader Assistant in the Collateral Management Group (CMG), you will support the trading desk by understanding its financing structures and flows and enabling successful execution. You will be producing daily projections of collateral requirements for the desk to trade against; owning end-to-end inventory management to ensure assets are moved to cover all obligations; coordinating the timely recall of inventory required for the wider equities business; and analyzing inventory and demand to maximize efficiency in line with collateral schedules and business priorities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead process improvements within the CMG TA team to increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and advance the change agenda.
  • Engage with the industry to identify enhancement opportunities—evaluate new vendors/services and collaborate with existing partners to drive improvements.
  • Produce daily collateral requirements and projections; monitor intraday with the desk to ensure obligations are covered while minimizing excess.
  • Own daily inventory management: book pledges and recalls to/from triparty agents; provide collateral for bilateral counterparties.
  • Continuously review asset optimization to ensure efficient usage per collateral schedules and regulatory requirements; implement opportunities for further efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with Technology, Product Development, QR, external vendors/agents, and operational support teams.
  • Represent CMG in industry forums; act as lead liaison with triparty vendors—assess technology offerings to maximize utilization and challenge vendor development to meet requirements.
  • Develop and deliver key MIS for CMG, including optimization metrics, volumes, and balances.
  • Execute intraday and end-of-day processes to manage risk across owned books and workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations and infrastructure groups to support a “one team” approach.
  • Maintain rigorous control execution—ensure all controls are performed, completed, and signed off on time.

  • Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

    • Understanding of the SBL (Securities Borrowing & Lending) product and relevant trading structures and flows.
  • In-depth knowledge of collateral types, eligibility, and requirements.
  • Experience working with triparty vendors and partnering closely with trading desks.
  • Proven track record of driving change and process improvement.
  • Strong front-to-back Operations knowledge (settlements, regulatory reporting, asset servicing) and ability to facilitate issue resolution across teams.
  • Awareness of key infrastructure groups (Finance, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Legal, etc.) and the impact of Trade Support actions on these areas.
  • High attention to detail and strong sense of ownership.
  • Effective team player comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with demonstrable positive impact.
  • Robust problem-solving, control, and project management skills.
  • Strong technical skills, especially Excel.

    • Experience with Alteryx/Tableau.
