Contract Type: Inside IR35

Length: Initial 6 month contract (Long term road map)

Start Date: July 2026

Location: 100% Remote with adhoc travel

Role:

Montash are working with a major organisation undergoing a large-scale data transformation programme to modernise its cloud data platform and accelerate adoption of advanced analytics, machine learning and AI.

They are looking to engage a Principal Data Architect to define the architecture and design of enterprise data products across Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure and Databricks.

Key Responsibilities

Define architecture and solution designs for enterprise data products
Lead data modelling, integration and governance across Snowflake, Fabric, Azure and Databricks
Provide direction across CDC, streaming, API access and ETL / ELT patterns
Establish standards for data security, access controls and regulatory compliance
Guide complex data migration from RDBMS, SAP, Salesforce, GIS and other enterprise systems
Align technical solutions with business, analytics and engineering stakeholders
Support AI, machine learning and advanced analytics use cases through scalable data architecture

Key Skills & Experience

Strong Data Architecture background within large-scale enterprise environments
End-to-end cloud data platform delivery experience using Snowflake, Fabric and Azure
Deep Snowflake experience, including Snowpark, SnowPipe, Dynamic Tables, Cortex Analytics and RBAC
Strong understanding of data modelling, ELT pipelines, data virtualisation, streaming and integration patterns

Experience with tools such as Databricks, Matillion, Alteryx, Qlik, Power BI, AzureML and ERStudio

Strong knowledge of data security, GDPR, SoX and regulated access control environments

Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical and business leadership teams
