Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to manage our busy team as Principal Pharmacist, Outpatients services.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to lead and develop the Trusts outpatient pharmacy service.

Epsom and St Helier Hospitals have retained in-house outpatient dispensing, with the pharmacy team managing the supply of medicines across the full range of specialties seen in our clinics.

We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring leader who will transform the service for our patients. The successful candidate will re-invigorate and reinvent our processes, delivering a professional, efficient, and compassionate pharmacy service.

Main duties of the job

You will need to have had hospital experience to understand how hospital prescribing, hospital only and formulary medicines work and perhaps you will also have experience of community pharmacy from which you can bring your commercial skills.

This is a senior role requiring someone with proven managerial and change management skills and experience. You will be working with a team of pharmacy assistants, technicians and pharmacists on two sites who are passionate about delivering a high class service.

If youd like to be a part of a team that offers a supportive and collaborative environment fostering growth and development, where your contributions are valued and recognised, we invite you to apply.

Working for our organisation

St Georges, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group cares for a population of four million people in South West London and North East Surrey. Our sites include St Georges Hospital, one of 11 major trauma centres in the UK and the largest healthcare provider and major teaching hospital in the area; St Helier Hospital, home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children; and Epsom Hospital, home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC).

After years of collaboration, our two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. While remaining as two separate Trusts, being a hospitals group will help us to collaborate more closely on research, and the development, education, and training of our 17,000-strong workforce.
