Commercial Counsel (EMEA Cloud) – Interim Opportunity

A leading global technology organisation is seeking a Commercial Counsel to support increasing workload across its EMEA cloud business, particularly on a growing pipeline of high‑value opportunities involving public sector and government customers. You’ll be partnering closely with cross‑functional legal teams and wider business stakeholders across the organisation.

What you’ll be doing

1️⃣ Lead Counsel on Strategic Cloud Deals

Take ownership of complex, high‑value public sector tenders and contract negotiations across EMEA, acting as the primary legal lead with minimal supervision.

2️⃣ Strategic Risk Management

Conduct and oversee detailed gap analyses of public sector procurement terms and requirements, comparing them against internal standards and fallbacks. Prepare clear, executive‑level summaries highlighting key risks and decision points.

3️⃣ Creative Legal Problem Solving

Provide practical, commercially‑minded legal guidance on novel or undefined cloud‑related issues within the public sector landscape, balancing legal risk with strategic business objectives.

4️⃣ Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Work closely with teams across Sales, Privacy, Public Policy, Pricing, Product, and Security to build alignment on broader legal positions and remove blockers within complex deal cycles.
