Description

Role: Procurement Manager – Meetings & Events ./ Indirects

Role Type: Temporary – 3 Months + Likely Extension

Location: Luton – Ideally x 3 days on site- x 2 days remote



Your New Role

Provides interim procurement support for Meetings & Events to maintain day-to-day operations and deliver critical business priorities during a 3-month transition period. Executes established procurement processes and manages supplier relationships to ensure continuity of service while permanent recruitment is underway.


Primary Objectives:

  • Maintain Operations: Execute day-to-day procurement activities to ensure uninterrupted service delivery
  • Deliver Business Priorities: Complete key procurement deliverables and initiatives scheduled for the next 3 months
  • Ensure Continuity: Maintain existing supplier relationships and uphold compliance with established procurement policies and procedures
  • Data Insights: Uncover, consolidate and analyse spend data to provide a global view


Key Success Criteria

  • All day-to-day procurement activities executed without disruption
  • Business priorities for the 3-month period delivered on time and to standard
  • Supplier relationships maintained and service levels upheld
  • Comprehensive handover documentation prepared for incoming permanent hire


Note: This is an interim operational role focused on execution and continuity rather than strategic development or team management. The contractor will work within established frameworks and processes to maintain business-as-usual operations.



Typical Accountabilities


Operational Execution

  • Execute routine procurement activities including purchase order approval, supplier coordination and management, and sourcing and contracting escalation support
  • Manage ongoing supplier relationships and resolve day-to-day operational issues
  • Ensure compliance with existing procurement policies, procedures, and approval frameworks
  • Process requisitions and maintain procurement documentation in accordance with established standards
  • Maintain 99% data accuracy in all required tools and platforms (COUPA)
  • Work with S2C team to deliver required sourcing and contracting activities

  • Business Priority Delivery

    • Complete specific procurement projects and initiatives identified for the 3-month period
    • Support stakeholder requirements and respond to business unit procurement needs
    • Maintain service levels and meet agreed procurement KPIs and performance metrics
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver scheduled procurement activities


    Transition Support

    • Document ongoing activities, decisions, and supplier interactions for knowledge transfer
    • Provide status updates on active procurement initiatives and supplier performance
    • Maintain organized records to facilitate smooth handover to permanent hire
    • Flag any emerging issues or risks that require attention beyond the contract period



    Essential Skills

    • Strong experience in Procurement ideally in Pharma Meetings & Events / In-direct
    • Business partnering experience
  • Supplier management
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision
  • Communication skills and ability to influence others
  • Comfort with risk and ambiguous situations
  • Proficiency with procurement systems (Coupa) and Microsoft Office suite
  • Degree level qualification
