Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust to join the SACT (Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy) team as a Specialist Practitioner (Advanced).
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and committed nurse with a passion for improving the experience and clinical outcomes of our patients and who inspires others to provide excellent patient care.
We are looking for nurses who have experience of working autonomously in a hospital setting and running nurse led clinics. Ideally you would have completed your history taking, physical assessment and non-medical prescribing course however we would not exclude aspiring nurses who would like to be part of this team.
As a trainee you could start as a Band 6 and be supported to complete these courses as part of your pathway.
Applicants who can demonstrate that they already meet the required competencies may be offered a Band 7 contract upon appointment.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
This is a progressive role to undertake set competencies and training to progress to a Specialist Practitioner (Advanced) The post holder has primary responsibility for the provision of specialist nursing/AHP for a defined patient/client group, practicing autonomously as a core member of the multi-disciplinary team).
The post holder will be responsible for leading a team to provide the safe therapeutic management of a defined patient / client caseload. The post holder will be the identified key worker for a patient/client caseload to co-ordinate/oversee therapeutic treatment and care.
The post holder will provide specialist advice, education and support to patients, their carers and other health care professionals. They will practice clinically in agreed care settings and advise and support Divisions regarding the overall management of the service.
The post holder will work across professional, departmental and Trust boundaries as required to develop and support patient-centred seamless care, with responsibility for leading practitioner-led care initiatives.
The post holder is a role model for all and will contribute effectively to inter-professional team working.

Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
Essential criteria
Registered nurse, Registered AHP on relevant part of NMC or HCPC register
Capable of attaining Level 7 Post Grad Cert (Min 60 Credits) or Master’s degree or equivalence within relevant speciality within 2 years
Specialist training / Qualification in area of practice including SACT passport
Provide evidence of supporting/ managing a range of learners in practice
Provide evidence of supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice
Capable of completing all band 6 competencies within relevant speciality
Specialist clinical skills and experience within specialist area
Clinical experience within relevant speciality
