About The Role

Balfour Beatty’s Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team is delivering critical energy infrastructure projects across the UK. As demand for secure, sustainable power grows, we are looking for a capable and driven Project Assistant to support our Operational Highways Line (OHL) projects on site.

This is a pivotal role within a fast-paced environment, ensuring projects are coordinated efficiently, documentation is controlled accurately, and key processes run smoothly from start to finish.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the Project Manager and site teams to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery
  • Acting as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and client representatives on project administration matters
  • Preparing documentation for meetings, including close-out packs, and taking accurate minutes
  • Raising purchase orders and managing purchasing card transactions
  • Assisting with sourcing plant and materials, arranging transport where required and liaising with the Plant Desk for repairs or replacements
  • Maintaining and updating plant hire records weekly, including on-hire and off-hire tracking
  • Managing Waste and Special Waste Transfer Notes and updating the Environmental Database
  • Ensuring subcontractor licences are verified and recorded
  • Controlling all incoming and outgoing correspondence and maintaining accurate project files, design logs and standards libraries
  • Issuing and maintaining Site Start-Up Packs
  • Monitoring vehicle allocations, permits to drive and driver reports
  • Uploading documentation to SharePoint and carrying out general administrative duties
  • Supporting compliance with health, safety and Business Management System requirements at all times
