Job Description

This vacancy is an exciting opportunity for a Principal or Lead engineer to take on the challenge of a laser production Project Engineering Lead (PEL) role, within an existing product group of laser rangefinders/designators, to ensure robust and reliable monthly deliveries to our customers.

It covers two main laser products which are both are within the IRR (In-service Readiness Review) product lifecycle stage. One with ongoing deliveries for up to 15 years, the second about to run up to its initial production run for deliveries in late 2026/2027.

What You’ll Bring

The successful candidate will lead a shared group of production support engineers with targeting laser domain knowledge.

Applicants will be expected to have

  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills to manage and motivate a multi-functional team, and various other project stakeholders, with a broad understanding of the various discipline roles within the product lifecycle.
  • Responsibility for being the primary point of contact for all engineering solutions for the product for both internal and external customers.
  • Experience and willingness for configuration control and ownership/maintenance of product drawing set through Change Control / Change Review Board (CCB/CRB) processes,
  • Experience in supporting engineering input to Material and Failure Review Boards (MRB / FRB) quality control, obsolescence management, and supply chain processes.
  • The ability to maintain an ambitious schedule to meet various engineering milestones and customer delivery expectations.
  • Be willing to manage various stakeholders through the maintenance of engineering design through the manufacturing and production phase of a program, collating reports and verification evidence towards yearly product lifecycle reviews.

  • Knowledge and experience of laser products, while a significant advantage, is not essential for this position.

    This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.
