Description
We're recruiting for a Project Manager to join us at Octavius , where we deliver safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK. This role focuses on managing the end-to-end delivery of a brand-new railway station in Cullompton . The project includes new platforms, station buildings, car parking, access routes, passenger facilities, drainage, utilities, and all associated civil, electrical, mechanical and rail systems works. You'll be playing a key role in bringing a new station to lifeimproving connectivity and supporting long-term growth in the region.

You'll be working on. (what your role and responsibility is)

  • Leading the successful delivery of the new Cullompton Station project from early development through to handover, in line with the Line of Sight.
  • Taking overall accountability for delivering the project safely, sustainably, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Ensuring financial performance targets, programme milestones, technical assurance steps, and customer expectations are all met.
  • Managing complex multi-disciplinary interfaces across civil engineering, structural works, station buildings, platforms, M&E systems, drainage, utilities, signalling, telecoms and station operational systems.
  • Overseeing temporary works, access planning, possessions and construction logistics within an operational rail environment.
  • Driving a collaborative culture within the project team and supply chainunderpinning our core values and our shared vision of safe, reliable delivery.

  • You'll work with (because relationships are important) A highly skilled team of engineers, designers, planners, commercial professionals, and supply chain partners dedicated to the station project. You'll also work closely with Network Rail, local authorities, rail systems specialists, utilities providers, station operations teams, and contractors across civils, structures, M&E and rail systems disciplines.

    About You. (what You Are Skilled At)

    • Experience delivering complex rail infrastructure projects, ideally including new stations, major civils, structural works, platforms or station redevelopment schemes.
    • Skilled in managing projects within operational railway environments, including possession planning, staging and multi-disciplinary coordination.
    • Able to demonstrate personal responsibility for delivering projects or major work packages up to approx. £10 million.
    • Strong understanding of rail safety standards, construction assurance, design coordination and railway operational constraints.
    • SMSTS competent.
    • Holds PTS and any other relevant rail certifications.
    • Competent level of IT literacy.
    • Knowledge of contract management (NEC, ICE, etc.) and project programming.

    You'll Bring (your Wealth Of Experience & Qualifications)

    • An industry-recognised qualification such as a Degree, HND, NVQ or similar in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related subject.
    • Significant relevant experience gained through practical delivery of rail infrastructure or multi-disciplinary station projects.
