Responsibilities

Purpose and aim of the role

We are seeking a delivery-focused Project Manager to lead all our firmwide transformation initiatives that enhance operational excellence and efficiency, improve client experience, and future-proof our business.

This is a newly created role, reporting to the CFO, which will play a pivotal role by driving the successful delivery of strategic and operational initiatives across the firm. The Project Manager will work closely with senior leaders across the firm and will be responsible for the successful delivery of all cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and driving momentum through structured planning, stakeholder engagement, and rigorous execution. Acting as a trusted partner to the Leadership Team, the Project Manager will bring structure, discipline, and accountability to projects across the firm, ensuring that timelines are met, benefits are delivered and risks are managed.

The Project Manager will have administrative support available as required but is expected to be actively hands on to ensure the successful delivery of all projects.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Leading the delivery of a wide range of projects across the firm which have been approved by the Leadership Team & Managing Partner.
  • Leading projects through the project life cycle from scoping through to implementation, post project review, and handover to business as usual, using best practice project management methodologies.
  • Leading subject matter experts and other project members, ensuring their deliverables are completed to agreed deadlines and creating a culture of personal accountability around projects.
  • Ensuring sustainable solutions are embedded into business as usual and the desired benefits are owned, measured, and realised.
  • Driving behavioural change to ensure project success.
  • Identifying, securing, and leading the resources required to deliver project deliverables.
  • Developing ongoing relationships with business leaders and other key stakeholders.
  • Creating opportunities for knowledge sharing, training, development, and upskilling of our project management capabilities.
  • Managing the financial elements of projects with regular reporting to the Leadership Team.

Person Specification

Experience And Technical Knowledge

  • Proven experience leading strategic and operational projects in professional services or similar environments
  • Experience of a variety of project and programme methodologies (e.g. agile and waterfall).
  • Project management qualification preferred but not essential (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, Agile or equivalent).

Personal Attributes

  • Desire and ability to understand the detail and complexities of projects sufficiently to support and guide subject matter experts on the project appropriately.
  • Desire to be hands on within the project and actively guide and support other members of the project team as required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with confidence to challenge effectively where required.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to achieve positive outcomes in complex environments in time-critical situations.
  • Maintain confidentiality, ensuring high levels of risk management with a full understanding of data privacy implications.
  • Comfortable performing in demanding environments, with the ability to deal positively with challenges and setbacks and to work with a calm, methodical and pragmatic approach.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt plans in response to evolving priorities.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assimilate data rapidly and use large data sets to tell stories.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven experience of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills.
  • Experience working in a partnership or matrixed organisation is advantageous.
