Project Manager – Xylem

Join us in solving water.

Xylem is a global leader in water technology, and we’re looking for a driven, proactive Project Manager to join our UK Treatment Projects team in Warrington. If you’re passionate about delivering complex engineering projects that contribute to safer, more sustainable water systems, this role offers the opportunity to make a real impact.

About The Role

You’ll be responsible for the cradle‑to‑grave delivery of bespoke, customer‑facing projects across Xylem’s ATG and Wedeco product portfolios. These typically involve:

  • UV disinfection systems (open and closed channel)
  • Chemical dosing and disinfection systems (chlorine gas, hypochlorite, OSEC)
  • Analyser and monitoring systems
  • Control panels
  • Mechanical, electrical and integration works

  • As Project Manager, you’ll lead all aspects of contract delivery — planning, engineering, purchasing, stakeholder management, onsite execution, financial control, commissioning and project closure.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead, manage and deliver multiple projects of varying size and complexity.
    • Develop and execute project plans, ensuring clarity across internal and external stakeholders.
    • Maintain full commercial, financial and contractual control from project start to final certification.
    • Build strong client relationships and collaborate with the sales team to support ongoing business opportunities.
    • Manage risk, schedules, documentation, project performance and subcontractor activities.
    • Champion Health & Safety, including preparation and review of RAMS.
    • Promote continual improvement and ensure adherence to company Quality Assurance procedures.

    Role Dimensions

    • Project values ranging from £100k to £3M
    • Full accountability for cost control, GM validation and commercial performance
    • Matrix collaboration across engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, finance, installation and commissioning teams

    About You

You will thrive in this role if you have:

    Essential

    • Project management or engineering experience within the water or similar process industry
    • Strong commercial and contractual awareness
    • Excellent communication and organisational skills
    • Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
    • Degree or equivalent experience in electrical or systems engineering
    • Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Experience chairing meetings and coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders

    Desirable

    • Familiarity with NEC3 or NEC4 contracts
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001, CDM regulations and RAMS
    • Experience with project execution methodologies (risk, scope, scheduling, change control, EVM and more)

    Why Xylem?
