About The Role

As National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) sits at the heart of the UK’s energy system, we play a critical role in enabling a decarbonised future.
As Project SHEQ Manager, you will provide visible leadership and accountability for the consistent application of legal and organisational Safety, Health, Environment, Security and Quality (SHESQ) requirements across our major construction projects.
You will line manage a team of Project Supervisors (PS) and Senior Project Supervisors (SPS), fulfilling the Employer’s ‘Supervisor’ role under NEC contracts across multiple projects and construction sites. This includes ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with contractual and planning requirements.
Acting as a matrix manager, you will work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver SHESQ performance and compliance in accordance with National Grid policies and procedures, while embedding strategic SHESQ initiatives across Infrastructure Delivery business unit.
You will lead the formal NGET interface with contractors for day-to-day construction activities, monitoring progress and working collaboratively to resolve programme risks and issues. You will also support incident investigations, ensuring learning is captured and applied consistently to drive continuous improvement.
By effectively managing PS resources across regional project teams, you will build organisational capability and capacity, supporting the delivery of high‑quality work that is completed safely, on time and right first time.
We have several roles available across the North, Southeast, London and South Wales. As the role is primarily site-based, you will be expected to live and travel within your allocated region.
