We have an exciting opportunity for a professionally qualified Youth Worker Level 6 to be part of the Newark & Sherwood team. The role will go across two district in the North, Bassetlaw and Newark & Sherwood and will require collaborative working.
The Link Youth Worker post support young people aged 13 - 24 with disabilities with an inclusive youth provision offer. You will be supporting young people to develop a sense of belonging, building on transferable skills.
We Want Somebody Who Can
- Delivering creative and innovative youth work
- Building positive relationships with young people
- Developing links with the local community and partners
- Managing a team of part time staff
- deliver and develop 4 open access evening sessions a week, plus daytime and after school targeted youth work on issues-based topics, relevant to young people needs
- Work closely with colleagues in the district and wider service
Your main base will be at Dukeries Young People Centre, but your remit will cover the north of county and involve travelling to various settings, there will be times when you will need to attend events and projects. You must have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to fulfil these roles. Disabled employees who are unable to drive because of their disability will be able to use taxis to carry out their duties.
