The Role:We are looking for Quality Assurance Technicians to join our technical team in Crick. These are permanent positions working an average of 42 hours per week, 4 on 4 off shift.Role Specifics4 on 4 off shift pattern (12‑hour shifts)The 4 on 4 off shift pattern offers predictability, extended rest periods and the ability to plan time outside of work.Average working hours of 42 hours per weekDays (06:00–18:00) or Nights (18:00–06:00)Day shift - Hourly rate of £16.96 (£15.66 plus shift allowance of £1.30)Night shift - Hourly rate of £18.26 (£15.66 plus shift allowance of £2.60) Key Accountabilities:Conduct production line and operator compliance auditsConduct area and paperwork compliance checks, escalating any issues or trends identifiedManagement and investigation of non-conforming materials and products (hold / quarantine process)Conduct composition checks on blended kibble finished products to ensure compliance to specificationDaily calibration of water activity equipmentManagement of retained sample storageCarry out NIR analysis on defined raw materials and finished product samplesEnsure that a safe working environment exists for all colleagues and that as a minimum the department meets the standards set out in the safety, health and environment policyAdditional Accountabilities:Collection and collation of product samples (finished product retained / DEFRA samples)Conduct goods in checks on packaging deliveries, including raising non-conformance report with supplier where applicableCustomer complaint investigationsConduct / support traceability exercisesPrepare samples for finished product quality panelsConduct refresher training for operational staff (CCP’s, average weight control)New product first production run audits / sign-off Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceGCSE or equivalent standard; numerate and literateBasic Computer literate for standard office practicesHealth and Safety - level TwoFood hygiene - level TwoCCP training including HACCP principles for ManufacturingInternal Audit Process; Understanding and ExperienceAllergen Awareness; Understanding of riskGMP; Knowledge of techniquesNon-conformance reporting techniquesMicrobiological awareness – understanding of basic food safetyBasic legal labelling practiceBasic weight legislation Total Reward & BenefitsOvertime, enhanced pension, life assuranceEnhanced maternity, paternity, sick pay, and holiday buy optionsHealthcare cashback plan and Hertility at‑home fertility testingGenerous disco
