Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Testing
· Perform incoming, in‑process, and final inspections on products, materials, and components.
· Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM, and other precision equipment.
· Compare results against engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
· Conduct visual inspections, dimensional checks, and functional testing.
· Identify non‑conforming parts and segregate them per company procedures.
Documentation & Reporting
· Complete inspection reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and quality records accurately.
· Maintain traceability records and ensure documentation complies with internal and external standards.
· Communicate quality issues promptly to Supervisors, Engineers, and Production teams.
Quality Systems and Compliance
· Support adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, EN9100 or other relevant quality standards.
· Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
· Participate in internal audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Tooling & Equipment
· Calibrate and maintain measuring equipment following company procedures.
· Report any faulty tools or equipment that may affect inspection accuracy.
Continuous Improvement
· Recommend process improvements to reduce defects and enhance product quality.
· Participate in quality meetings, training sessions, and improvement projects (e.g., Lean, 5S
Skills & Competencies
Essential
· Strong understanding of quality control processes and inspection techniques.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering schematics, and specifications.
· Competent in using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
· Good communication skills with the ability to relay issues clearly.
· High attention to detail and accuracy.
· Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
· Strong communication skills.
· Essential to work and adhere to company values, and procedures.
Desirable
· Experience working in manufacturing, machining, engineering, or similar high‑accuracy environments.
· Knowledge of CMM programming/operation.
· Knowledge of GMM (Gear Measuring Machine) operation
· Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or six sigma.
· Ability to write and report Inspection reports and FAIR to AS9102 standards
· Knowledge of NDT techniques (Nital Etch, MPI)
Qualifications
· GCSEs or equivalent in English, Maths, or related subjects.
· NVQ, apprenticeship, or technical training in engineering or manufacturing preferred
· Previous experience in quality inspection role is highly desirable.
Working Conditions
· Workshop or production environment.
· Required use of PPE.
· Physical requirements include standing, lifting, bending, and use of hand tools
