The successful candidate will work as part of a Design & Delivery Team delivering planned, programmed works to parts of Manchester City Council's circa 13,000 housing stock, including a range of tenanted High Rise, Low Rise, Sheltered blocks etc, delivering improvement works such as replacement kitchens, bathrooms, rewires, heating, Fire - Risk Assessment works, zero-carbon and carbon reduction schemes, external cladding and insulation works, M&E heating and electrical works, ad-hoc remedial works etc. T

Please see Role Profile for further requirements. Current working pattern is a hybrid approach, with 3 days a week office based and 2 days working from home. Current office location is Manchester Town Hall (Extension); however, this may change to a satellite office in North Manchester, or from a contractor's temporary Site office, or a combination of all three. The role will involve traveling to and from site to carry out financial checks and attend meetings, so the candidate will be required to travel and therefore having access to a vehicle is prefera

ble (standard casual milage rate allowance).

We would love to hear from you if you have experience of procurement, pre-contract, post contract and cost planning within a construction environment, preferably with experience and knowledge of Framework Agreements and various contracts such as PSPC, JCT and NEC3/4.

Essential requirements for the role:  

Commercial experience in a construction project related environment.

Microsoft Office skills, including being reasonably conversant with Microsoft Excel and producing cost plans and cost data in formats for inclusion in reports for consideration.

Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, BSc, MSc) in a Quantity Surveying discipline, or has equivalent demonstrable experience and knowledge.

Willing to undertake or working towards or holds full membership of an appropriate professional body (e.g. MRICS, MCIOB etc)

Understanding and working knowledge of contract procedures within a partnership-based procurement environment.
